Kiteboarding tilt slated in CamSur

source | mb.com.ph |The world's top international professional kite boarders are now at the Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Pili, Camarines Sur for the 2nd edition of the Wind or No Wind (WONW) Board Jam kite boarding competition.

Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte, the acknowledged brains behind the creation of the best wake park in the world, sees another exciting finish to the event, what with the presence of some of the finest players.

Now on its second year, the Wind or No Wind Board Jam is just one of the feathers in CWC’s cap. CWC hosted the Wake Park World Championship in 2008 and 2009.

Among the world-class participants are British Aaron Hadlow, Canadian Olivier Derome, Andre Phillip of Antigua, Samuel Light (UK), Tom Court (UK), American Brandon Scheid (US), Craig Cunningham (Canada); Billy Parker (USA) David Blair (USA), Eric Raiestra (USA); Patrick Wieland (USA), Chris Simpson (UK), Jamie Barrow (New Zealand), Christian Black (UK), Suzi Mai (Dominican Republic),.Billy Parker (USA) and Bruna Kajiya (Brazil).

The country will be represented by 2011 Dakhla Kiteboarding World Cup and Cabrinha boarder Paula Rosales.

Up for grabs during the 9-day event, which will run until Dec. 10, are: Best Overall Rider (best in cable and kite category), Best Cable Park rider (1st, 2nd and 3rd), Best Kite Riders (1st, 2nd and 3rd), and even a Best Attitude Award, which is a sort of sportsmanship award.
