Margarito not the same without plaster: Cotto

Source | abs-cbnnews.com | Junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico is confident that his rematch against Mexico's Antonio Margarito will end differently from their first meeting.

The two boxers first fought in 2008, wherein Margarito defeated Cotto via an 11th round technical knockout. That victory has since come under suspicion, however, after Margarito was caught with illegal handwraps in another fight.

Margarito's wraps were found to be loaded with a substance similar to plaster of paris. Cotto has since accused his foe of using the illegal wraps during their fight, an allegation Margarito vehemently denied.

Cotto is now unconcerned about Margarito's power come their December 3 rematch."This time things will be different," he said in a Boxing Scene interview. "The fight won't be the same. He won't be the same." Margarito had given Cotto a bloody beating in their 2008 bout, but this time Cotto promises that he will "punish" Margarito inside the boxing ring.

"He doesn't have the plaster. He won't be the same without the plaster," Cotto said.
