Galaxy boss won't take Azkals lightly

Source | abs-cbnNEWS.com | MANILA, Philippines – Members of the Los Angeles Galaxy underwent a few set of drills on Friday to prepare for their friendly game against the Philippine Azkals.

ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo reported that football superstar David Beckham and his team mates familiarized themselves with the pitch and the weather at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The team practice took place after their football clinic with Filipino children.

Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said they are not underestimating the Azkals, who have popularized football in the Philippines.

“We know our players have to play well in order to win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Beckham is thankful for the warm welcome Filipinos extended to him and his team.

"To all the Filipinos, thank you for the support, thank you for the welcome," he said. "I hope you enjoy the game tomorrow."

When asked if he plans to return to the Philippines in the future, he said: "Of course... it's been incredible."

Some of the Azkals, including Rob Gier, Misagh Bahadoran and Angel Guirado, were able to see the Galaxy players practice.

They took over the pitch on Friday night immediately after the Galaxy’s team practice.
